Description
Metzeler Road Tec 02 Tires
The RoadTec 2 Tire from Metzeler is where the paths of supersport tires and sport-touring tires cross. Unique to Metzeler, the RoadTec Tires debut a dynamic “dual-mode” tread pattern that adjusts to your riding style. During easy riding, the long, flowing groove profile results in quick warm-up, compliant ride quality and excellent water evacuation. When the pucker factor is turned up, the narrow, center portion of these same grooves squeeze together to create a larger contact patch with the road. Potential grip, road feel and precision all increase. This “Adaptive Tread Design” is what Metzeler calls “2-tires-in-one: super-sport or sport-touring.”
Regardless of riding style or pace, the RoadTec 2 Tires deliver low vibration, low road noise and smooth transitions from the straightaways into turns. All sizes utilize a full silica compound for excellent chemical grip in wet conditions. Front sizes are all single compound. Rear applications are all dual-compound with 80% of the useable tread surface using the softer, grippier formulation.
The O-spec (sometimes listed as (O) designation on Metzeler tires indicates a special reinforced construction featuring a 2-ply carcass. Versions feature differents structure materials to improve stability on heavyweight and / or fully laden motorcycles.
