In house testing, at Feuling shows venting the air cleaner to atmosphere may be problematic resulting in oil carry over/misting out of the breathers. When air filter venting is accompanied with the use of oil tank venting such as the Feuling vented dipstick and or a vented transmission top cover the oil carry over/misting can be increased. The overall health of the engine including the internal cylinder head breathers, oiling system and piston ring/cylinder seal play a major role with oil blow by, carry over and misting out of the breathers. Feulings testing shows the M-Eight engine has limited internal vacuum and the cylinder head breathers prefers the vacuum pull of the intake.

It’s all about the flow, more air in and more air out, anything that slows that down, robs horsepower.  The solution is the new S&S high flow cast aluminum manifold and a must have for top level performance in the M8 platform. The factory M8 intake manifold does a decent job in stock form, but starts getting in the way when trapped between 124″ and larger cylinders. The stock polymer unit is also less tolerant of the additional heat that a big bore engine can make at full noise.
